The four public profile statuses

The label shown on a profile is derived from its claim state and current evidence. A stronger label replaces—not blurs—the earlier status.

• Listed business - not claimed: This public-directory listing has not been claimed or verified by its owner on Serproz.

• Verification pending: A verification review is in progress.

• Business and identity verified: Serproz confirmed the provider's business identity. This is not an occupational licence.

• Licence verified: Serproz confirmed a current occupational licence. Check the stated licence scope for this service.

How a check applies to a job

Directory visibility and permission to respond to a job are separate decisions. Before a provider can transact for an exact service, Serproz checks the relevant facts again.

• Profile ownership: The business profile must be linked to the provider and in the required claim state.

• Exact service and area: The provider needs a confirmed capability for the work and coverage for the job location.

• Applicable evidence: Non-regulated work uses the required business-and-identity check. Regulated work uses the occupational register relevant to that service.

• Current status: Expired, suspended, failed or unrelated checks do not satisfy the service requirement.

What a Serproz check does not promise

• A listing, claim or verification label is not an endorsement or a guarantee of workmanship, price, availability or completion.

• A business-and-identity check is not an occupational licence, and a licence check covers only the stated register and scope.

• Insurance is not implied unless the profile shows specific, current insurance evidence. Ask the provider for evidence relevant to your job.

• You should still confirm permissions, consents, supervision and certificates required for the work under New Zealand law.

If a profile detail appears wrong, do not rely on it for the job. Use the support page so Serproz can review the specific listing or evidence.

A practical customer checklist

• Read the profile status and the date and scope of any displayed check.

• Make sure the named licence or registration covers the exact work you need.

• Compare genuine reviews, photos and business information where available.

• Agree the scope, price, timing, access and responsibility for materials in writing.

• Ask directly about insurance, permits and certificates that matter for the job.
