Reviews policy

Genuine experiences. Clear sources.

Reviews help customers compare providers and help businesses understand the experience they provide. This policy explains who can review, what belongs in a review and how each source is shown.

Connected to a real job

A native Serproz review unlocks only for a party to a completed job with signed-off work.

Useful, first-hand detail

A review should describe the writer's own experience of the agreed work, communication and outcome.

Sources stay separate

Where Google Maps reviews are available on a provider profile, they are labelled and attributed separately from Serproz job reviews.

Who can leave a Serproz review

Serproz uses the job record to determine review eligibility rather than accepting open testimonials.

  • The author must be the customer or the assigned provider on that Serproz job.

  • The whole job must be completed, with at least one stage of work signed off, whether it was paid through Serproz or directly to the provider.

  • Each party can submit one review for that job, with a whole-number rating from one to five stars and optional written feedback.

  • Customer-to-provider reviews can appear on the provider profile. Provider-to-customer reviews are not used as a public customer rating.

An eligible Serproz review is published when submitted. It may be removed later if it conflicts with this policy or the Terms of Use.

What makes a useful review

  • First-hand: Write about your own experience on the named job, not rumours or another person's dispute.

  • Relevant: Focus on the agreed scope, communication, timing, care, price handling and outcome.

  • Specific and fair: Explain what happened in language another customer or provider can understand. Honest criticism is allowed; disagreement alone is not a reason to remove a review.

  • Safe to publish: Leave out private addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, payment details and identity or licence documents.

Content that does not belong in a review

  • Fabricated feedback, review trading, coercion or an undisclosed conflict of interest.

  • Threats, harassment, hate, discrimination, obscenity or instructions for unlawful or unsafe activity.

  • Advertising, spam, irrelevant links or repeated content unrelated to the job.

  • Personal data or allegations that are not needed to explain the first-hand job experience.

  • Content that impersonates another person or infringes their rights.

How moderation and ratings work

Serproz can remove a published review when it conflicts with this policy or the Terms of Use, and can restore it after further review. Removal and restoration are recorded, and a provider’s Serproz rating is recalculated from its currently published customer reviews.

A low rating or a business’s disagreement does not by itself make a review ineligible. If you ask for a review to be considered, identify the review and explain the specific policy concern through review support.

Google Maps reviews on profiles

When a profile displays rating, review or photo content fetched live from Google Maps, that content is labelled with Google attribution and links back to its Google Maps source. It is separate from reviews submitted through a Serproz job.

Google selects and orders the reviews it returns. Serproz does not present those reviews as Serproz-verified jobs. Use the source or report link shown with the Google content for a concern about that material, subject to the current Google Maps terms.
